Yona says "kreps"
Vina says "kreeps"
Joanna says "kraps"
The lady in Westwood said (while walking by Green Tea Terrace) "Oh look they have 'creepies' like in France."
Well, whatever you call it, I made some last night! Several weeks ago Richard bought a crepe machine online. Then last week I searched the internet for different recipes and I tried one out last night. I always thought the recipe would be the hard part because it looks really easy to make them. I was wrong.
The recipe was fine off the bat. Spreading the crepe batter looks SO easy, but the batter is very sensitive to the heat of the cooker, so if you have it too hot, it cooks too fast and gets really messy. But, after about 7 tries I got a pretty good one. And yes, Richard and I ate all 7. We put our favorite toppings on: Nutella (the advantage of making this at home- you can put as much as you want!), fresh strawberries & bananas, and powdered sugar. The crepes weren't bad either, just the right amount of butter and some were crispy. Yum, yum.
Come over let's have a crepe party!
