Road Rage

L.A. Traffic is HORRIBLE!

Well, today I woke up a little bit late... after getting the dogs up & ready and getting myself up and ready I headed to The Grove. I returned Lulu's sunglasses (yes, I said Lulu's sunglasses) because they didn't fit right on her. Instead I exchanged for a pink ribbed tank top that says "Princess" I would post a picture but I think I've been posting too many pet photos recently. I walked around and did a little bit of shopping... but I'm pretty sick of The Grove (Richard's favorite weekend spot) so I headed over to Kitson. The store has become annoyingly overcrowded nowadays... not to mention there were a ton of papparazi just standing outside (waiting for a celeb to walk in?) Who knows.

Anyhow it was at that point that I made a bad decision that punished me in the car for a total of about 3 hours. I decided to meet some friends at Fritto Misto over in Santa Monica for a late lunch... this was about 4pm. Since I was on Robertson, I figured I'll just take Santa Monica Blvd. all the way to Santa Monica... it took me 1 hour and 15 minutes. It took me that long to drive 9.96 miles... Mapquest estimates the drive to be only 15 minutes!

And THEN... since we left at around 5:15pm we figured we had enough time to drive to Barneys before they closed at 7pm. Wrong again. It took until 7:15pm to get there! Almost 2 hours to drive 10 miles??? Not to mention Barneys was already closed by the time we got to BH!! ARRGGHH.

Ridiculous.

Well, at least today I had the chance to pick up the iTrip for my iPod. I've gone to the Apple store 3 times before to try to buy one but each time the salesperson would always talk me out of it. "Too hard to find a station" "Reception sucks" "Doesn't work that great" etc etc.

I tried it out today on the default 87.9 and it worked great! I was stubborn and decided to get one anyway because my radio has pretty good reception and I've been scoping out for blank stations whenever I'm out and about (yess.... see that's how bad traffic is around here!!!) So now I'm happy.

Party Planning

It's time to start thinking about Lulu's 1st Birthday Party!

Rain Treats

Rain, rain, go away Part II

AUUGGHH!

Water damage!! After 6 months of construction on our building... the walls are still leaking rainwater! Today's damage was the worst ever in the bedroom. The half of the room near the window was wet- we had to move our computer desk, bookcase, nightstand and bed over and Serv-Pro came and cut half our carpet out! They said the carpet could not be salvaged so they cut right through it and now there are two huge fans running. The living room also accrued some moisture and there is now a huge dehumidifier running and I also have a leak in one of the new windows.

The entire apartment is a mess with furniture everywhere. I'm miserable. Moley and Lulu are miserable too. :'(

New year, new kitchen

My parents are finally remodelling the kitchen! Today they started ripping out all of the cabinets and installing the new ones. (They as in the contractors... not my parents :P) My parents also planned to get a new sink and refridgerator.

I really wanted to do something for my parents for being so accomodating this past month so I decided to help them complete the renovation. I bought them a new stove/oven and dishwasher. Here is what I picked out at Best Buy today:

Frigidaire Range with Stainless Steel

I didn't realize how hard it is to pick out appliances! I knew I wanted black/stainless steel appliances because our new cabinets are light maple with black granite counters. I wanted sophisticated looking appliances... didn't realize stainless steel was so expensive! So I picked a simple range with a built in digital oven. The Frigidaire matching dishwasher in the stainless steel was reportedly not very good at dishwashing so I had to opt for the newer black on black model... plus I had to find a very user-friendly one because my mom has never used a dishwasher before (just as a drying rack for her hand-washed dishes) and I want to convert her.

Rain, rain, go away.

Don't you hate the rain?

Especially since recently Moley decided that it's trendy not to go poop in the morning, which means I have to bring him out an additional trip in the afternoon. Today he did just that... and so I gave up thinking I'll just bring him back down in a couple of hours... and that's when it started pouring :( But I was forced to bring him down anyway and it took him 20 minutes to decide on a place to poop. We were both soaked. :(

I decided to start some of my spring cleaning today and as I was getting ready to do the laundry and dishes, I realized we were out of detergent. Both laundry and dishwashing detergent.

I was reluctant to go to the grocery store because I just recently washed my car but I did anyway... It was so wet out there! Anyways, I was having a crap day walking around in the rain, ruining my blow-dried hair, getting rain water all over my newly washed car, pushing a wet cart around Ralph's... when I spotted a pick-me-up... the highlight of my week...

James Patterson wrote another book! Yay! And it was 40% off! (From $28?? When did books get so expensive???)

So anyways now I'm getting ready to do what I've been waiting all day to do. Rip open that bag of Baked Lay's and get started on this new thriller.

Yippee.

Happy Valentine's Day!

What a surprise....

Not that I would have thought Richard forgot Valentine's Day... he just likes to keep hush pretending like it's no big deal. So when I came home to this, I was pretty surprised. Mostly because of the sheer size of it.... this is sitting on top of our dining table, it almost grazes the ceiling! (Or maybe our ceiling's just low...)

Another Thursday Off!

My second Thursday off in a row :)

I hit up the Barney's warehouse sale in the morning. Then I came home to the two laziest dogs in the world.

Then I took some portraits of the lil lazy bums:

You can kinda see Lulu's toenails ~.~

Day Off

Today was much shorter than I hoped~ so I didn't get as much done as I wanted! But here is how I spent my SPA-Thursday...

Dropped Moley and Lulu off at Chateau Marmutt. They both had a bath, trim and had their teeth brushed (yes, because I'm too lazy to do it) and Lulu also got her first pedicure!

OPI - I'm sure you've seen this brand at mani/pedi salons everywhere- apparently makes a "PAWLISH" for dogs... non-toxic and fast drying. Lulu got all 16 of her toe nails done... did you know that dogs don't have a thumbnail?

Unfortunately I can't get her to sit still long enough for a picture.

While they were at Chateau Marmutt, I had an entire 5 hours to myself. Well, actually with LA traffic that translates to 3 full hours to myself.

I spent the morning running some errands. Okay~ who am I kidding, I went shopping :) Stopped by Bev Center, Loehmann's, and Brentwood Gardens. Picked up a few "essentials" then I went over to Fred Segal's for my haircut. This was my 2nd time with David/Amanda and he did a pretty good job. I like how he shapes my hair but I think this time around he made my bangs a little too short. I get really bad bedhair in the mornings now :(

Then I had to pick up Moley and Lulu from the Groomers~ Moley was so scared during the whole ordeal that he pooped 7 times. !!! Yikes.

my boo

Okay, it's not that great or tactful or even THAT funny...

but it did make me chuckle:

A Day for the Dogs

Another free day!

Well- today I was supposed to run my errands... but I decided to put them on hold and go out with the dogs. I kind of did one of the errands- I threw Richard's drycleaning in the dryer with dryel :P

I was going to go bring the dogs to the groomers then to the vets to get their their annual shots... but of course I'm a last minute person who doesn't like to make appointments beforehand so everything was booked. I decided to just go to the dog park and let the dogs play... but then I remembered how dirty Moley gets after the dog park and I don't want to drive them back in my new car. ~.~

So I decided to walk! Yup~ From Wilshire+Bundy to Sunset+Barrington. I figure why not get the dogs exercised and tired while I'm at it.

We only made it half way. I did have a really good slice of pepperoni pizza at Frankie & Johnnie's in Brentwood though. They were just too tired to go on.

They were so tired that they tolerated all the other day-walkers who stopped by to pet and chat with them. Usually this is a cue for Moley to jump up and pee all over them or for Lulu to bark like a maniac but nope~ today they were the docile little dogs that I've always dreamed of. All they did was sit, pant, and wait to be petted.

Quote for today... an older lady in a wheelchair (can you BELIEVE Moley didn't bark at her???) who said, "Awwww SISTERS! Look at the two little girls!!!"

Haha.

And I've dubbed this coming Tuesday as SPA Day... an all out grooming day for me & the dogs. Here's our to do list:

Sheena- Eyebrow waxing, haircut, mani/pedi, tanning.
Moley- Bath, trim, teeth cleaning.
Lulu- Bath, trim, teeth cleaning, pedicure.

YES, I said pedicure. I just haven't decided yet... red toenails to show her sassy side or violet to match her hair ribbons? Or pink to match her collar...

Oh, and would it be wrong to paint Moley's nails blue?
