Yummy yummy eating. Last night I had Garlic Roasted Crab at Crustacean. I was thinking afterwards that I did a pretty good job... it was carb-less. Can't be that bad for you right? It must have slipped my mind that I ate almost an entire plate of garlic noodles and banana fritters for dessert. Oops.

Afterwards we had arranged to watch "The Day After Tomorrow" at Century City. However, when we got there the line was so long that we decided not to. Well, they decided not to. I figured if we were going to wait until 11:10 to watch the movie, what's the difference between waiting (standing) at the bookstore than waiting in line? Well, it was kind of lame because Anton decided to return the tickets and we had to wait outside for him to get his refund, and by the time he came back down and we were ready to go it was time for the movie to start anyway. Laaaame.

And then he decided "let's go to Caffe Roma" for drinks and ugggh I hate that place. It's an old school Italian restaurant on Canon Blvd. that has an enclosed outdoor patio. It does not have good food, no good appetizers, and it's so damn smoky outdoors I haaaate going there. The crowd, the atmosphere, the smoke, the food, it's HELL! (Even the iced water tastes yucky)

Well anyways, at least I didn't have to stay there too long. Usually I have to endure a full 3-course dinner. Anyhow I went home, slept in, then today went to Chochosan. Yum! I still haven't found sushi better than Chochosan. I discovered a new roll today too! It's called the Las Vegas Roll. It's a shrimp tempura inside, with fresh water eel on top, unagi sauce, sesame seeds, and crunchy tempura topping. Yummmmm. And I love their Rice Krispie. It's a deep fried cube of rice with spicy tuna on top. I don't know how they can get rice to taste that good. It's sweet and crunchy and oohhhh how am I supposed to diet and give up carbs?
I love Sephora! Today they had a Peter Thomas Roth event so I signed up for an oxygen facial. I've been hearing good things about oxygen facials so I was pretty excited about it. But when I got there, the lady was like "Oh, you don't need oxygen facial. Your skeen is already gud. You already flawless dont need detox. Here I rehydrate for you with cucumber mask." (As you probably guessed, she was foreign.) Nevertheless I had fun getting exfoliated and "rehydrated".

Also, now that summer is here, I'm constantly obsessing about how pasty my legs are. I tried a spray-on tan a while back but the results weren't that great. It came out a bit orangy, it was streaky, and did not last long at all. I've heard about Sunset Tan mostly on TV... "where Paris Hilton spends $1000 a month to keep her glow." I considered going but was too lazy because it was too far (Sunset Blvd.) But now, they've opened one in West LA, right on Sepulveda so I decided to stop by there today.

I've been using Self-Tanner and wasn't too satisfied with the results: again, streaky, orange, and doesn't last long. This time I decided to try the beds. They have 3 different beds, all new and all pretty intense. I decided to go for the highest level, the sunboard. I was pretty shocked (and confused) when I they showed it to me:

I didn't want to seem too much like a "first timer" so I casually nodded when the guy ran me through the instructions. When it came time to actually use the machine I was pretty confused. At first I assumed the arms and top closed around the body, since that's what most tanning beds do. This one just stays stationary and emits high pressure UV rays to tan you. It was so freaking hot. I tried to turn on the "fan" but I accidentally pushed the "stop" button instead. Then I couldn't get the machine to start again, it was pretty embarrassing. I had to get dressed, go outside, and ask the guy how to turn the thing on again. He was like "uhh, you push the same "start" button"... uhhh der :)

But all in all I was pretty happy with my results. I'm darker than I've ever been after just one session and I'm not orange-y. It looks pretty natural.
What makes a person unique?

What makes you, you?

The way I look.
Cut my hair, get a tan, plastic surgery. I change the way I look and dress all the time. When I was in elementary school, I thought it was cool to wear black. In junior high, I always wore baggy clothes. Early college it was Banana Republic black, khaki, and white. Last year it was jeans and a tee. This year it's bright colors. This can't be what makes me, me.

My likes/dislikes.
Doesn't this change with time also? When I was a kid I thought roller skating and plastic jewelry were cool. I used to like to bowl. Knit. Bake. Dye hair. Anime. Read. Watch TV. None of these things are me... they are just phases of me.

My philosophies.
My morals, my standards. Everything I believe to be true and correct in the world, was taught to me by someone else in the world. Therefore it's not coming from me, I've learned it from others, whether it be society, my parents, or my peers. That must not be truly me either.

My memories.
Playing on a typewriter in my mom's office when I was four. (Is that why I type so fast?) Chasing boys around in Kindergarten. Begging my dad to teach me how to drive when I was 13. Ditching chinese school to play with Soomin. Eating Del Taco for lunch during Princeton Review SAT school. Working the hostess stand at Arte Cafe, hiding behind the podium when Whitney people walked by. Going McDonald's for coffee at 5:30AM before praise practice at Ivy's house. Lake Arrowhead church retreats. Singing along to H.O.T. Candy at the no-re-bang on my 21st birthday. Countless Banana Chocolate crepes at Grean Tea Terrace.

These are all mine. Solely determined by me. My actions, intentions, attitudes, and personality now are based on all of these experiences.

Take away my memories, and I have nothing. If I wake up from amnesia, and do not remember a thing, will I still act like me?

Will I still love food?
Huh.

I didn't do too badly today! I did most of the things on my to-do list. I think immediately following the previous entry I finished reading my Bergdorf book. It was hilarious and entertaining, great for light summer reading. It probably beats out all other chick lit for the "label-dropping" award but the story was sweet and sadly believable.

After that I went jogging with Moley (yes, me, jogging!). We went around the block a couple of times and met a couple other neighborhood doggies. Afterwards I gave him a bath, then I gave me a bath. Portofino's was fully booked for the weekend so I exfoliated and applied self-tanner at home. :-P No matter how hard I try to naturally tan, I can't.

Also I've fought every urge (and trust me- there were many) to eat my last bar of chocolate. Godiva milk chocolate with toffee and almonds... who could resist? I'm so proud of myself. Although it will probably be the first thing I eat tomorrow morning =)

Later in the evening I went out to the movies with Richard, and his brother and sister and sister-in-law (phew, full car). We saw Shrek 2. Well, at least the girls did, the guys refused to watch a "chick flick" and saw Van Helsing instead. I can't even remember the last movie I went to see. Oh wait- it was Godsend. Well, I can't remember the last movie I've seen before THAT. Shrek 2 was HILARIOUS. I think it might have even been funnier than the first. The story certainly went along faster. I thought the "Far Far Away" town was funny... it was my second home :P with Barney's Old York and everything.. hehe..

Well the movie was very enjoyable. I'd go see it again even. And now I'm off to sleep, and I might even read a chapter or two in my Soc Psych book. (wow!)
My new hair high has worn off. I want a fake bake. My nails need to be done. I need to exfoliate. But I'm just too darn lazy to d o a n y t h i n g. I want to lie around the bedroom and watch Moley sleep.

But maybe I should take him out for a jog. Burn off the two buttercakes and chocolate bar I just ate. Come home, exfoliate. Make a run to Portofino's for a quick spray.

Or I could pop in a DVD and lounge on the couch. I think I have an extra Godiva bar sitting somewhere...

Or I could lie around in bed and finish reading Bergdorf Blondes...

Or of course, I could start on my Soc Psych paper, or at least catch up on my reading. Sign up for summer classes. Fill out my commencement papers.

I have a million things I need to do, a couple things I should do, and one or two things I want to do but I can't decide. And I'm probably going to end up doing nothing.

Oh, what to do.
Moley's going to have babies! Well, he hasn't impregnated anyone yet, but my childhood friend Shirley has a Cocker Spaniel too, she's buff (in both ways... the color buff and I hear she's pretty buff too) and she's 5 years old. She's going to be in heat soon so we're going to let them get together.

If I had known I wanted to have puppies I would have gotten a female Cocker to begin with. But I guess it's better that I don't raise the puppies. I would get too attached and knowing me I'd probably want to keep all of them.

But can you imagine little cocker babies running around with freckles on their noses? I can! So cute! But what happens if Moley passes down his "pee" gene? The one that makes him spray whenever he meets anyone new... :( Well, we'll see what happens!

Isn't it great how you can be having such a "blah" week and go to get your haircut and it just revives you? I always feel better after I get a good haircut. Whether it's because I'm having a bad week, bad hair day, or just feeling down, a good haircut always gives me a new energy. (And a bad itch to go to Sephora to buy new hair products) Also it's a good thing that I've found a good hair stylist that works great with my hair type (thick and a whole lot of it). My hair guy is from Israel so I guess that makes him used to thinning out hair for girls with too much hair (me). This time I toned down my bangs, and trimmed off 2 inches and added light layers in attempts to give my hair some volume. Then (just to make sure) I went to Sephora to buy a Frederic Fekkai Volume Lift Spray. I love it! But I don't love lifting my hair in sections and spraying and blow-drying for 20 minutes. Takes too l-o-o-ng. I like to towel-dry and go. Oh the sacrifices we women have to make.
My indo teacher had internal hemorrhaging during labor so we have another week off of school! Yay for hemorrhages! (errr... ok that was mean..)
Hello my lovely blog... I am supposed to be studying right now. But instead, I will write about my weekend.

This entire weekend was full of reunions. The first was on Saturday. I had made plans to go to Wango Tango (that's right... an 11-hour concert) with Leila, an old high school friend. I hadn't seen Leila since Whitney graduation! She was exactly the same... it was nice to have the whole day together to catch up. The day was long and hot- and I didn't get any darker like I had planned to. Instead I got a little bit of a burn on my shoulders and that was it. I was excited to see JC Chasez and Clay Aiken. Enrique Iglesias also had a great performance. I'm such a teeny-bopper =) Now that I think of it, I did feel really old when Hilary Duff came out and a bunch of 9 year olds around me started singing along to her songs.

Then on Tuesday I had lunch with Sarah Park, another high school buddy. She is one of the 3 people I keep in touch with from Whitney and we grabbed a quick lunch at Sawtelle Kitchen to catch up. She is leaving soon to Urbana to get her Ph.D... wow! I'm so happy for her :) [By the way, had the BBQ Steak Salad & Teriyaki Wings.. yum!]

And tonight (Wednesday night) I met up with Marcela and her boyfriend Robert. They took me out to dinner at Furaibo. We had to meet anyway because she had to pick up some bags for me, but I hadn't seen her in a while either, so it was nice to catch up. We were supposed to grab a light meal but instead we ate hoards of chicken wings, beef, and other heavy foods. Tsk tsk.

And I'm supposed to be dieting for my Hawaii trip! Not to mention Soomin's wedding! Grrrr~ gotta get this extra weight off. But food is soooo good!
Congratulations Richard~

In honor of my weekly Sephora trip, I've decided to dedicate this entry to my
obsession with beauty products. I've tried and tested products in all areas and
found the best and the worst of everything. Here is a list of my current daily
routine for the Spring/Summer, in order of application:

Blisslabs Lemon Sage Soapy Sap

Shower gel, great for the bath also! I love the fresh lemon+sage
scent along with the brisk lather is produces in your loofah.

-----

Kiehl's Creme de Corps

This super-enriched, nourishing
treatment with Beta-Carotene has been my long time favorite. It is a bit
heavy and takes a little longer to soak in, but worth the wait! No scent.

-----

Frederic Fekkai Technician Shampoo & Conditioner

I just love the way this smells. :) Makes your hair
feel healthy and strong.

-----

Frederic Fekkai Glossing Cream

You know how your hair looks best the day after you
wash it? Get that look right after you shower with this cream. It uses
olive oil to give you shine and manageability and it smells good too.

-----

Caudalie Instant Foaming Cleanser

I just love foam pumps.

-----

Kiehl's Cucumber Herbal Alcohol-Free Toner

Does not smell good (at all) but leaves your skin
feeling amazingly fresh and smooth.

-----

NARS Make-Up Primer

No matter what type of foundation, tinted moisturizer,
or powder you use, this is a must-have before make-up application to make
your skin look smooth and your make-up look natural. Smells good too.

-----

Murad Oil-Free Sunblock Sheer Tint SPF 15

Very sheer. I bought this originally thinking it was a
moisturizer, which it's not. But for "normal" skin it works just as well
and has SPF too.

-----

La Mer The Lip Balm

I just love the way this smells (or tastes?) and it leaves your lips
feeling soft & plump. Doesn't last long (cos I keep licking it off?) but
it feels so good!

-----

NARS The Multiple in Palm Beach

Flattering on just about all skin shades, I use this
when I'm pale, when I'm a little bit tan, and it is so easy! Just apply &
blend, and you got yourself an instant tan ;).

-----

NARS Blush in Orgasm

This shade is also flattering on all skin shades, and
gives you just the right amount of glow. Layer over the multiple for a
glowing bronze.

-----

LORAC Eye Shadow Trio in Love Triangle

Perfect shades for summer in colors that don't compete
with each other. Use the lightest pink to highlight and blend with the
bronze to create depth.

-----

Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler

Gives you perfectly curled lashes every time, and it
just doesn't break no matter how much abuse it goes through in my make-up
bag.

-----

IMX Custom Mixed Lip Gloss

I discovered this custom lip gloss at Fred Segal's in
Santa Monica and I'm in LOVE with my peachy melon. I chose a peach base
with a little bit of gloss and mixed it with a melon scent. They also give
you a cool speedpass-like keychain in case you need to come back for
refills.

-----

YvesSaintLaurent In Love Again

A lush blend of fresh fruits, soft, watery florals, and sexy musk
kissed with sandalwood. Smells fresh and not too girly.

-----

H2O Plus Hand and Nail Cream

I bring this hand lotion everywhere, it is lightweight, non-greasy
and works right away to soften hands. Silk protein and vitamin E help nourish
nails and cuticles.

Take-Out Menu Organizer

Hey this is kinda useful :) Especially for us too-busy-too-cook in the Westside folks.
I can't believe it's Monday already! I'll try to recap the weekend.

Well on Friday night Richard & I ordered in, Mr. Cecil's BBQ Ribs... yum! I love the baby back ribs there. This time I was only able to eat a half rack... probably because of all those Hush Puppies I ate. Then afterwards we went to go catch Godsend at Century City. Richard said that Noncha said that it was good so I decided to take her word for it and watch it, since she is more sensitive to scary movies than I am.

It turned out horrible! I was so scared out of my wits that I wanted to throw up! I wanted to leave during the movie but Richard wouldn't let me. I asked Noncha afterwards how she could stand watching that movie and she said that she couldn't- she kept her eyes closed the entire time and she hated it. Richard tricked me!

Anyways on Saturday Richard & I went to the office. We were there from noon til about 6pm catching up on all the work we didn't finish on Friday. Then afterwards we went to try out Nagao Sushi in Brentwood. Richard has been there a long time ago and I've never been so we decided to try it out. It was pretty good! They had a lot of crab in everything so all the tastes reminisced of California Roll but overall it was pretty good. Especially the Spicy Tuna Salad- yum!

On Sunday we had dimsum at noon, in Monterey Park! I haven't been to NBC Seafood in a long time, when I was a kid I went there after church all the time. Afterwards we went back home and I finished my James Patterson book. Then I got ready for my Mother's Day dinner with my family at Crustacean. It was so yummy! I had a good time with my whole family there, we haven't had a dinner -all 6 of us- together in a long time and last night was a good time to unwind and just relax. I didn't quite finish my crab but I did have heaps of garlic noodles. Yum. Here are some pics:

Wow. This blog is starting to sound like a food diary. If we are defined by the things we enjoy and the things that are most important to us... then what does that say about me when the only thing I remember about my days is what I eat. Hehe.

Okay, now it's time to start studying for my Social Psychology midterm. I have 3 soc books to kill by tomorrow morning... :(
Another long, tiring day. I did have today off of school and work though! My Indo teacher started going into labor last night so there will be no Indo classes for 2 weeks! Well, it's supposed to be "Independent Study". Yay! So happy!

I spent all day cleaning, cleaning. Cleaning all day. Went to Gerry's house to catch the last 5 minutes of Friends.

Thats it so far!

Let's hope my Friday night is a little more interesting.
What a long day! I woke up early to go to my Indo class (9:00 AM). Actually it was the only class I was planning on attending that day since I had a my Behavior Modification midterm at 3:30 PM. I stayed on campus though, after class, since I knew I would get *NO* reading done if I went home. So I hung around campus at the library to read... breezed through 6 chapters. Took my test and it was actually much easier than I expected. Good thing I had all that time to read!

After class I went home. I think. I don't remember. I think I read a book then fell asleept taking a nap or something. Was I that tired? I was pretty braindead. Anyways I don't remember anything until it was almost time to watch friends... but I had to miss it because I had plans for dinner with Richard & his friends. We went to Mastro's in BH but this time. We had planned to eat a birthday dinner with Catherine and her friend Marjie but at the last minute it got moved to tomorrow, so instead I joined in on Richard & Jabin's "yay we're done with grad school" dinner. I didn't want to eat a heavy steak and screw up my diet by eating too much, so I decided to order King Crab Legs. (Is that what they're called?) Anyways it's the first time I had them and they were really good. I had crab cakes as an appetizer. Then this weekend Yona and I are taking Mommy out to Crustacean for a crab dinner. Muhahaha I love crab.

Then I saw the Friends Finale~ The entire last segment was cut off by Tivo! Can I sue!? Grrrrr!!! I don't know what happened after Ross & Rachel kissed! AUUUGGHH :( So sad.
P.S. I checked. Her name is Danielle Fishel. That's close... how embarrassing :(
Oh the boredom of reading about Behavior Modification in Applied Settings. And to think I'm only on chapter two, which is about 14% of the reading I need to do before tomorrow's 3:30pm midterm. Could the material BE any more dry?

Usually, the night before a midterm, I procrastinate and clean around the house first. However, since there seems to be an abundance of unclean things going on in the apartment, it would take at least 3.5 hours to clean up, therefore it is not a wise decision to do so. Instead I decided to take a shower, exfoliate, shave, and apply self-tanner. And, by the way, why does self-tanner stink so much! Yuck!

I had an Indonesian midterm this morning. Even though I came in an hour late, it was still more than enough time to finish the test. Most of it went okay except for a couple of translations. I didn't know "lake", or "river".. and worse yet I just used the word "pulau" for both of them, I figured at least I would get credit for one of them. I just found out that "pulau" means "island". I'm sure my teacher has a good laugh at my tests sometimes... since if I don't know a word I just force it.

Here are some pictures (for you Vina!) from last night's midnight birthday celebration (Happy 19th birthday Catherine~). A few of Catherine's friends came over to bring over a cake and sing Happy Birthday.

Notice the half eaten chocolate cake from Amandine's? Undoubtedly the best cake ever in the whole entire world that I've ever tasted in my life. And it's flourless too. (Less starchy carbs?) Yum. Like an oversized melty blend with a buttery walnut-y crust. Yona and I attempted to adhere to our diet today so we had salads at Moustache Cafe. I also orderd a yummy shrimp appetizer. I told her how I usually dip bread into the sauce, and it's sooo yummy, but we couldn't since it was after 4pm and that means no bread. But Yona broke down and decided to cheat and just have one... she ended up eating the entire bread basket! Shame on you!!!

By the way I stopped by Beverly Center today and I saw another only-Sheena-would-recognize-this-B-List-celebrity... If anyone has ever watched Boy Meets World... the boy's weirdo girlfriend. You know, the chubby, talkative one. Danielle Fisher... is that her name? Oh gawsh I hope not... that's embarrasing to admit to remembering.

Okay... back to the Principles of Behavior Modification...
Of course, as expected I watched 3 episodes of Law & Order: SVU, 2 episodes of American Idol, and 1 episode of 7th Heaven. Someone help me-- I'm addicted to TV :(

It's finally feeling like Spring! Well, actually more like summer. I've scalded my skin a couple of times today on leather car seats... who says mini skirts are for summer! GRR~ It seems everywhere you go there are flowers everywhere... with Mother's Day coming up, and Graduation. Which reminds me I haven't got a Mom's Day gift and forgot to order Richard's Lei for Grad Day. I bought a cake at Amandine's today for Catherine's birthday-- and that was it~ I ONLY bought a cake, even though they had a full case of chocolate croissants and Chocolat Banana cakes. If that ain't discipline, I don't know what is! I also bought cute wrapping paper/ ribbon at the deli by our house. I didn't think Catherine would be home when I got back but she was! So I had to sneak everything in.

I found this on the UCLA website today:
UCLA Alma Mater:
Hail to the hills of Westwood,
To the mighty sea below;
Hail to our Alma Mater,
She will conquer every foe.

For we're loyal to the Southland,
Her honor we'll uphold;
We'll gladly give our hearts to thee,
To the Blue and to the Gold.

Sad to think I've been around here for 6 years and that's the first time I've seen that! I wonder ~ if I think really hard will I remember the words to the Whitney Alma Mater? Ugh, who wants to.. ^.^

So I'm procrastinating again. I have an Indo midterm tomorrow morning (Early!) and I have another midterm on Thursday. I haven't done any studying yet. Instead I've started on a James Patterson book and it's so hard to put down... And tonight is American Idol, and I still have SVU on Tivo... how am I supposed to study?

And it SUCKS that today is Big Band Day on American Idol. This is John Stevens' week! I'm so sad he's gone. I hope Jasmine does well, this doesn't seem like her type of song. I hope Fantasia & LaToya get kicked off. Please, please, please. Maybe I'll vote tonight. Maybe.
I can't believe the weekend is almost coming to and end :( Well on Saturday we had to stop by the office to get some work done. This next week is going to get pretty busy for me. I have to work almost every day and juggle that along with 3 midterms, read 1 book for school, and write 2 papers. I could start on it early, but I'd rather spend tonight catching up on all the Law & Order's I've been collecting over the week. Then after work Richard & I swung by Beverly Hills to search for my new wallet. Seems like we ran into a ton of Indo people at Louis Vuitton and Barney's... I guess we overlooked the fact that Rodeo is still THE Indo hang out for the weekend? Afterwards Catherine had a graduation dinner to go to so I helped her get ready. I haven't played make-over in a while so it was kind of fun.

Since graduation season is here, it's getting me to think about my own. Of course, UCLA is the last one to go, since all the other schools (including USC) have theirs in May. I was originally going to skip the walking and just take pictures and maybe have a little dinner with the family... but the more I think about it, the more I want to do more. Maybe I'll walk. Maybe I'll throw a dinner. We'll see.

Anyhow last night we went out to eat with Anton & Jen at a new restaurant near their apartment called the Spark Grill. (hee hee~) I thought it was interesting, I might take spark there when she moves here for May :) Anyhow it's a wood-burning oven type of Grill & the food was okay. I had a full rack of Baby Back Ribs (didn't finish) and some crab cakes. Afterwards we swung by Anton's place to play some Animal Crossing.

This morning I woke up l-a-a-a-te. I'm talking 12:30pm late (which is EARLY for Gerry). Got up, watched a couple of SVU episodes, then we went out to eat lunch at Singapore Express with Catherine. I haven't been there in a while so it was good comfort food. Then we went to Costco to restock on DVD's, books, and other house things.

Just saw Honey on DVD. I hate torturing myself and watching these dancy, tummy-bearing girls flaunt their 6-packs on the screen. Oh who am I kidding, I love it, I just don't like how I feel afterwards :)
Last few days there haven't been anything interesting enough to dedicate to an entire entry. I went to the mall with Natassia on Thursday (I didn't know there was a terrorist threat!) and while we were shopping we saw the American Juniors girls. Am I the only person who know who they are? Anyhow, for those of you who've never watched American Juniors, here's what they look like: (They are much shorter-looking in person)

I was supposed to have lunch with Gerry that day but he flaked out on me. Had more important plans. How sad :( I may just as well flake on his birthday lunch!!! GRRRR!

Yesterday I worked the whole day, pretty tiring. I was kind of lame and wore brand new white terry pants. I got them so dirty walking around the warehouse and to make matters worse, Moley peed on me the minute I came home :( Oh well. Last night A-Ai came over! Wow, she lost a lot of weight. My sisters and I have all been on a "diet"... pretty strict. I don't think I've lost that much yet. A-Ai was telling me how they all did 600 crunches one night, and she showed me how they do the crunches, they aren't even doing it right! I taught her how to do a "correct" crunch and she could barely do 5!!! Silly, silly people.

Well it's Saturday morning, haven't planned anything for this weekend yet but right now I gotta get ready to stop by work. (There just aren't enough hours in the work week)
