An O.C. Weekend

On Sunday night Steve and I took the sisters to see RENT at the Orange County Performing Arts Center. It was pretty awesome! RENT is Steve's favorite musical and I've always wanted to see it because I've only heard great reviews. I started listening to the soundtrack a long time ago but lost interest after seeing (and falling asleep during) the movie version.

The seats were pretty good... we were in the orchestra section off to the side. The voice talents were amazing.

Posing in front of the RENT poster on the way in to the theater.

VIJO!

They're getting pretty excited about the show... (or the snacks served at the cafeteria?)

View of the stage from our seats.

Close-up of the set.

That's the crazy screaming RENT fan to Vina's left...

Being goofballs at dinner... food always does this to them.

Aai sure enjoys her Takoyaki.

A Saturday at the Beach

What's a better way to spend a Saturday than to drive up the Malibu Coast to grab breakfast at Paradise Cove? There is no better way I say.

After devouring a set of coconut/macadamia nut pancakes (yum!) we sat out on Paradise Cove's private beach to catch some sun and enjoy the sea air.

(That's a horrible pic of that sunbather, btw)

Lock and Key

I've always wanted my blog to be a more of a diary... to include stories of a more personal nature. But I've always had to worry about *who* reads it... so I decided to lock it for now and start documenting my new adventures. It's time to get personal.

Blast from the Past

At around noon my old buddy Cynthia (aka skinny Japanese jeans girl, Faith's mom, or old Borgata neighbor) calls me for a favor... "Will do you a booth at the Top Button Sale?"

Hmmm... haven't done a sample sale in forever. Why not?

So after work I headed over to her house to pick up the merchandise... a bunch of bags, bracelets and other accessories by Vita. Fun!

Not.

First of all I am so not used to manual labor... it took so much effort to carry the box from my car to the sale. I've never thought about how difficult it is to do one of these booths alone!!! I dropped the box and broke a vase that I was supposed to use as a display as I was crossing the street. I arrived really late and had to set up while people were already shopping. It was painfully boring and halfway through I had to pee REAL bad. Not to mention TWS did a booth... so I ran into Natt, Toon and Be. It was a little bit awkward but in a way it was nice to see them again.

My booth.

Some key charms I was selling for $15 each. You put two on a long necklace chain... super cute!

It was interesting to be in that environment again... really makes me appreciate my desk job. It's such a chore to have to do manual labor and sell things to people. And clean up. Blecch.

:)

The Softball Team

What is the best way to prepare for a softball game?

Happy Hour!

Yes, seriously. Advertising peeps are alcoholics. To be fair, this was the only time (so far) this season that we went drinking before a game.

I suck at softball. I suck at sprinting. I'm great at hitting the ball... except for the fact that I pop them high and they're super easy to catch. I'm horrible at catching. I really suck at softball.
